Adventure!

Tom has been home from London for a while now and I am going to visit him in Washington for a couple of weeks. Probably won't get very much internet time, but I am okay with that.

I've never been to the northwest before. Wish me luck, I hear there's vampires there (and their raving fangirls, who, frankly, I'd be more afraid of any day of the week. Forks tourism is giving
Twilight film tours now, can you believe that??).

I have a new goal in life

...and that is to be hugged by one of these.

I don't think I have to explain myself beyond that picture. Goodnight.

ETA:

Did you SEE that precious little yawn? Augh, I just want to hold it and kiss it and wear it on my head.

:c

"If you hold onto your dreams too tightly, you'll crush their little ribs."

I don't remember where I first saw this quote, but whenever I think of it, it always makes me very sad, for a reason I can't quite put my finger on. I don't want to hurt my little dreams, particularly now that I'm picturing them as small furry creatures not unlike kittens.

Pretty things.

Vogue Spain.
Photographer: Juan Gatti.

I don't think I would mind at all to wear lovely things like these every day, especially that buttoned coat with the lace collar. Wouldn't say no to being that tall and skinny, either. Alas, since neither of these are at present possible, I may just have to console myself with a you're-a-good-girl present. But alas again, I have not been a good girl. That, however, is my secret.

My love she speaks like silence.

No sleep again tonight. I think things are happening in my head. This is not good this is just the behaviour I decided I could not take in others anymore.

My bed smells like Honey Nut Cheerios, which is exceedingly odd because I certainly have not been eating cereal in bed.

Oh look, now I am using giant spaces between my sentences. That just reeks of blog angst.

Delight of the Turkish variety.

My wonderful boy in London mailed me some of this delightful deliciousness this week. He even sent my favourite kind -- rose-flavoured! <3 I do believe that since I went to London and tried it, Turkish Delight may have replaced dark chocolate as my favourite candy. It tastes like... like what perfume would taste like if one could pick it off trees.

Every flavour I tried was delicious! Pistachio and strawberry and coconut and lemon and pineapple...

I miss these guys in Borough Market. No matter how many times I passed their stall, someone would always lure me over for a little sample bite.

Had my garage sale this weekend. The mornings were beautiful, luckily, but I didn't end up making very much money. Still, I have less junk now than I did two days ago, and that's never a bad thing.

I would not be displeased if this was my wedding song someday.

I don't know which version I like better; they're both lovely. Equally haunting and soothing.

Words of comfort to be scratched on a mirror.

Helen of Troy had a wandering glance;
Sappho's restriction was only the sky;
Ninon was ever the chatter of France;
But oh, what a good girl am I!

Roma, ti amo...

45. Go to Italy and try to get around without speaking any English or resorting to mad gesturing.

A few highlights from my trip to Ostia Lido and Rome back in March. I didn't speak much English at all, and by the end of my trip I was being asked for directions by Italians, so I think I did pretty well.

The weather was beautiful, with the exception of Sunday when my Vatican City expedition got rained on.

These are just a handful of about 500 photographs. I'm glad I took so many. <3

Ack, my wallet!

AllSaints things.

AllSaints just needs to stop this nonsense. How dare they make wonderful clothes I can't buy in the States? HOW DARE?!
